A 19-year-old is charged with second-degree murder in one of last weekend's fatal shootings.

Hennepin County attorney Mike Freeman says the office will be seeking a longer sentence if Demerio Davis is found guilty, because there were children around when the shooting occurred.

According to court documents, Davis and 18-year-old Jamarius Shief of Minneapolis entered the Emerson Food Market in north Minneapolis Sunday morning.

Eventually, a fight broke out and Davis is accused of shooting 23-year-old Samuel Abron-Yeager of Fridley.

Abron-Yeager is suspected fatally shooting Shief in the same incident, but the investigation is ongoing.

Davis was arrested minutes after the shooting about two blocks from the store. The county attorney's office says Davis was prohibited from possessing any firearms for a 2013 for aggravated robbery and he was also was charged with being a felon in possession of a gun.

He is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday.
