A seven-year-old boy is dead after suffering from a gunshot wound to the head in Plymouth.

Police arrived at the residence in the 6000 block of Shenandoah Lane around 3:04 p.m. Wednesday afternoon after they received a report of a victim bleeding from the head, according to Sgt. Jeff Stimac with the Plymouth Police Department

“Emergency personnel arrived and started CPR and the seven-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene,” Stimac said.

Stimac didn’t know exactly how the child got a hold of the gun, or if the child was alone in the home. He says they plan to release more information tomorrow after they process the scene and wrap up interviews.

The child’s identity is not being released.

This is a developing story. We will update as more information becomes available.
