Vikings wide receiver Adam Thielen says new quarterback Kirk Cousins is a welcome addition to a team that should be a Super Bowl contender in the upcoming NFL season.  Thielen told John Hines on the WCCO Morning News that Cousins can see that the Vikings have some solid talent coming back for 2018.  You can listen to the podcast here.

Thielen told WCCO Radio, "From the outside looking in, he could see that it's a lot of really good people, and that's what you're looking for when you're a free agent.  You want to win, ultimately, but that's how you win.  You win with great people, and guys that just love the game of football."

Thielen says the only times he has seen Cousins, he piled up outstanding passing statistics.  That includes two games he played against the Vikings while with the Washington Redskins.

"In the two live games that I saw, man, he was on fire," Thielen said. "Picking us apart. And our defense is pretty dang good. We're excited to have him on our side and to be able to do those things to other peoples' defenses."

Cousins threw for 327 yards and a touchdown in Washington's week ten loss to the Vikings last fall. In week ten of 2016, Cousins threw for 262 yards and two touchdowns to help the Redskins beat the Vikings. Those are the only two times Cousins has played in games against the Vikings in his six seasons in the NFL.

Thielen did not meet with Cousins when he came to Minnesota during Super Bowl week, but he did talked with him before Wednesday's signing. Thielen said his new teammate told him he wants to win with the Vikings.
