Things looked good for the Gopher women's basketball early on at Ohio State.

But after a 24-24 tie at the end of the first quarter, things got out of control, and the Buckeyes soared to the 99-76 win in Columbus, Ohio.

The Buckeyes went on a 10-2 run early in the second quarter and never looked back in their seventh straight win over the Gophers (15-10,5-9 Big Ten).

Redshirt junior Gadiva Hubbard scored 10 points to surpass 1,000 for her career, while Gopher teammate Jasmine Powell led the team with 21 points.

Hubbard is the 26th player in Gopher basketball history to reach the 1,000-point mark.

Madison Greene scored 25 point to lead Ohio State (15-9,8-5) to its fourth straight win.

The Gophers have lost their last two games by a total of 48 points, and face three ranked teams in their final four games of the regular season.

In their second season under coach Lindsay Whalen, the Gophers find themselves in 11th place in the Big Ten and need a strong finish to improve their postseason chances.

They play at Michigan State on Monday night.
