The Minnesota BCA has identified both the deputy and man involved in a shooting in Crystal.

Deputy Allen Magelssen shot 39-year-old Jamar Hollins back on May 23. Hollins remains hospitalized a week later at North Memorial with what authorities call a non-life threatening gun shot wound.

Officers were serving an order of protection when Hollins barricaded himself in a bathroom armed with a knife at a home in the 3600 block of Colorado Avenue North. Investigators say that after two hours of negotiations and failed attempts to use a taser, Magelssen fired his weapon.

The BCA is still investigating and says it will hand over its findings to the county attorney's office for review and possible charges.
