The BCA is investigating an officer-involved shooting late Wedneday night in Crystal.

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension says Hennepin County Sheriffs Deputies and Crystal Police Officers showed up to a home on the 36-hundred block of Colorado Avenue North just before seven to talk to a man who had an order for protection due to immediate danger of domestic abuse.

The man apparently armed himself with a knife and locked himself in a bathroom.

Negotiators talked to the man for about two and a half hours before they finally entered the bathroom.

The BCA says efforts to tase the man did not work, which is when a deputy fired a gun, injuring the man.

He was taken to North Memorial Medical Center with what are described as non-life threatening injuries.
