The boys' tennis coach at Benilde-St. Margaret's has been fired by the school after administrators say they learned he's facing several felony child sex crimes charges in Wisconsin.

The Star-Tribune reports 59-year-old Kevin Rust of Minnetonka was arrested this summer as part of an undercover sting operation and facing charges of child enticement, attempted second degree sexual assault of a child and using a computer to facilitate a sex crime.

School president Adam Ehrmantraut sent a letter to parents saying they're "shocked and saddened" by the news. The letter said Rust "was in compliance with our background check policy and reference checks were also conducted." It urged parents to talk to students about any interactions they had with Rust. The Star Tribune reports administrators are planning to meet with players and coaches who worked with him, both past and present.

Rust has coached at Benilde St. Margaret's for the last three years. He's was inducted into the State High School Tennis Association's Hall of Fame in 2012 after leading Rochester's Lourdes High School girls' team to 11 championships in 12 years.
