Charges filed against man who rammed SUV into fence at Gov's residence

Clinton Fouquette says he wanted to speak to the governor

New details have emerged as to what motivated a man to drive his SUV into the gates at the governor's residence in St. Paul Sunday night.

According police reports, 59-year old Clinton Fouquette of St. Paul told officers he rammed his Chevy Tahoe into the security gates because he had many problems and he felt the only solution was to speak to the governor.

The incident happened at 9:40pm Sunday. 

Neither Fouquette, nor anyone was else was hurt. Governor Dayton was inside the residence, but his office says he was never in any danger.

The damage to the security gate is estimated at $50,000 to $75,000.

Fouquette is charged two felonies; terroristic threats, and first-degree damage to property.
