Minnesota club plays Southwest regional winner from Louisiana on Monday

Coon Rapids-Andover has been here before.

But it'll take an even bigger effort to get to where they want to go in the Little League World Series

The Midwest Regional champion from Minnesota fell to the Southeast champ 11-0 on Sunday in Williamsport, Pa. in a USA bracket game stopped after the top of the fourth because of the mercy rule.

Southeast, which hails from South Riding, Va., scored three in the first and five in the second on the way to its second straight win.

Pitcher Justin Lee did not allow a hit, giving the Virginia team two straight no-hit performances to start the World Series.

Drew Law was the losing pitcher for Coon Rapids-Andover, who now plays River Ridge, Louisiana in a USA bracket elimination game Monday night.

Both teams need to keep winnng to stay alive in the tournament.

Coon Rapids-Andover won its World Series opener last Friday, beating Bowling Green, Kent. 2-1.

The Minnesota team reached the annual tournament by coming out of the loser's bracket in the Midwest Regional in Westfield, Ind.

They lost to Iowa in the regional semifinals, then had to beat Missouri and Iowa to gain the World Series berth.

The last time Minnesota had a team in the Little League World Series was when Plymouth-New Hope qualified out of the midwest regional in 2010.

Louisiana lost its Series opener, then won on Saturday to move to Monday's game.
