St. Paul police have arrested David Martinez, the candidate for city council whose aggressive behavior have led to being thrown out of a library and banned from Target Field.

Police say he was arrested Monday without incident for felony non-consensual dissemination of private sexual images.

Martinez is currently in the Ramsey County jail.

On Saturday, July 14, the St. Paul Police Department received a report that Mr. Martinez posted a topless photograph of his wife on a blog. The case was immediately assigned to an investigator who reached out to WordPress and twice requested that the blog be taken down.

On Sunday, the site was taken down. Investigators are working to determine whether there are other images on the Internet and will be working to have them removed if they are found.

Martinez’s blog post also contained a restraining order his wife had taken out against him. The affidavit attached to the order describes a physical assault in their home on July 4 in which Martinez allegedly grabbed her by the neck, shoved her and threatened to kick her out of the house. She left soon afterward.

In the order, his wife says Martinez suffers from depression, and that his “behavior has continued to escalate over the past 3-4 weeks,” according to the Star Tribune. She says that their two children showed signs of fear around him.

WCCO Radio's Chad Harman interviewed Martinez last week, before Martinez posted the image and allegations of domestic abuse on his blog.  The interview quickly fell apart.
