A 15 mile stretch of Interstate 35W in both directions will be closed again this weekend for repaving and reconstruction.

MnDOT will close the road from the Crosstown (Highway 62) in Richfield to I-694 from 9pm Friday to 5am Monday August 3-6.

It is to accommodate work on the huge I-35W@I94 project and the I-35W Minneapolis to Roseville.

The same stretch of 35 W was closed this past weekend

People who travel the distance should take Highway 100 as a detour.

The ramp to Northbound Highway 280 from I-94 east and west will also be closed.  It will be open going north from University to Larpenteur Avenue.

But the interstate will be open in several spots so local traffic can get to businesses and residences.

  • Southbound from 46th Street to Crosstown (Highway 62).
  • Southbound from I-694 to Highway 280
  • Northbound from Ramsey County Road C
  • I-94 to University Avenue
