Firefighters from several departments battled a fire at the Mendakota Country Club early Friday morning.

Crews were called to the scene in the 2000 block of Mendakota Drive around 4:30am, where they found flames shooting through the roof of a two-level storage facility located immediately adjacent to the clubhouse.

While the fire wall which separates the two buildings kept flames from spreading, the clubhouse did sustain smoke and water damage and will remained closed until further notice.

The storage facility appears to be a total loss. There were no injuries.

The Mendota Heights Fire Department was assisted by departments from Eagan, Inver Grove Heights, and South Metro (West St. Paul and South St. Paul).

The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
