A man who pulled a gun on Minneapolis police officers Friday night surrendered after one of the officers opened fire on him.

No one was hurt in the confrontation near the intersection of Aldrich Avenue and 30th Avenue North.

It was about 7:00 p.m. when police noticed a large group of people gathering in the area.

Police say the group scattered when officers approached.

The police began chasing a man who had a gun, and when he pulled the weapon the officer fired.

The suspect dropped the gun and was arrested.

He is booked in the Hennepin County jail.

The bullet that was fired has been recovered, and the officer who fired the shot is on mandatory leave while the incident is investigated.
