Minnesota made its first 11 shots and freshman Daniel Oturu registered a double-double to give the Gopher men's basketball team a 109-53 exhibition win over Minnesota-Duluth on Thursday night at Williams Arena.

Oturu, one of coach Richard Pitino's prized in-state recruits, started for the Gophers and scored 17 points and added 10 rebounds.  The former Cretin-Derham Hall standout also had four blocked shots.

The Gophers played up-tempo all night long on the overmatched Bulldogs, shooting 67 percent from the field and making ten shots from three-point range.

Isaiah Washington led all scorers with 18 points, one of seven Gophers to reach double figures.

Brandon Myer led Minnesota-Duluth with 11 points and nine rebounds.

This was the Gophers' only preseason exhibition game. They open the regular season on Tuesday at home against Nebraska-Omaha, then host Utah six days later before heading to Canada for the Vancouver Showcase starting Nov. 18.
