UNDATED (AP) - The Gophers are looking to regain traction after an ugly loss at Maryland, and also regain the traveling trophy they haven't won since 2014.

It's the second straight season, both under head coach PJ Fleck, that the Gophers won their four non-conference game and lost their Big Ten opener to the Terrapins.

Saturday is not only Homecoming at TCF Bank Stadium, it's the Gophers' 112th all-time border battle game against Iowa.

To the winner goes Floyd of Rosedale, the 98-pound bronze pig that's the likeness of a real blue-ribbon sow that was won by the Gophers when they beat the Hawkeyes 13-6 in 1935.

The real Floyd, named after former Minnesota governor Floyd Olson, is buried on a farm in the southern Minnesota town of Mable.

Iowa has won three straight over the Gophers, who lead the all-time series 62-47-2 after winning the first 12 matchups starting in 1891 in Iowa City.

That includes a 42-39-1 record with Floyd on the line.

The Hawkeyes lost to Wisconsin two weeks ago and can ill afford a second loss in the Big Ten West race.
