More people than ever before went to the Minnesota State Fair on Saturday.  It was in fact, the busiest single day attendence ever recorded.

Fair officials said 270,426 people attended the fair on its last Saturday. The previous single-day attendance record was 260,374, set on the second Saturday of the fair in 2016. "We're excited," said Danielle Dullinger, a spokesperson for the fair. "For us, the attendance figures are not the most important thing for us.  It's just good to know that everyone is having a good time."

This is the fifth record-breaking day of the 2018 fair.

This year's fair is on pace to break the total attendance record set during last year's fair. The 2017 Minnesota State Fair drew 1,997,320 people.

To break that record, 363,478 people need to attend the fair Sunday and Monday.
