Klobuchar reveals people are talking to her about a possible White House run

Senator appeared Sunday morning on ABC's This Week

Sen. Amy Klobuchar isn't going to make the same mistake twice.

Appearing on ABC's This Week, Klobuchar told host George Stephanopoulos, who was asking the Democrat about a run for the White House in 2020, that her husband first found out about her run for US Senate when she announced her plans during a radio interview.

"Since he is watching today, I'm not going to repeat that again," Klobuchar said with a smile.

"That is not a no, either," said Stephanopolous, with a laugh.

Klobuchar did reveal that people are talking to her about running for president since her overwhelming re-election on Nov. 6 to a third term in the Senate.

"People have been talking to me about this, I think, in part, because I worked really hard to go not just where it's comfortable, but where it's uncomfortable," she said.

Klobuchar's resouding victory includes picking up strong support in areas of Minnesota where Donald Trump did well in nearly winning the state on the way to capturing the White House in 2016.

"I'm also someone, for those who are exhausted with politics, likes to get things done," she said. "Right now, I'm just thinking about this, talking to people."

During the campaign, Klobuchar left Minnesota to campaign for fellow Democrats in Iowa. She also appeared on the CBS program "The Late Show" with Stephen Colbert the night before the polls opened.
