Minnesota basketball icon Lindsay Whalen, recently retired from the Lynx and now coaching the Golden Gophers women's team, had some choice words for Jimmy Butler during an appearance Thursday on WCCO Radio.

"You get competitive, you get a little into it and everything, but I would not be doing that as a player," she told WCCO Radio's Roshini Rajkumar.

Whalen also hinted that she wouldn't take that from a player on her team either.
"I don't know...if one of my players did that," she said, pausing. "Hopefully that never happens, let's just put it that way. But it sounds like it was an interesting day over there."

Whalen, who was born in Hutchinson, Minnesota, said she is a lifelong Timberwolves fan and hopes the conflict between Butler and the team can be resolved soon.

"I hope it goes well for the organization because there's just, there's too many good people over there, there's too many hardworking people that put so much into this to let this kind of be as negative as it as it sounds," she said.
