The head of the Minneapolis police union is taking issue with a new policy set forth by Mayor Jacob Frey in his State of the City address Thursday.

Frey announced the city has decided to ban so-called "warrior-style" training for police officers. The style of training that focuses on perceived threats has come under scrutiny in recent police shooting cases.

Union head Lieutenant Bob Kroll spoke with WCCO's Chad Hartman Friday.

Critics say that particular style of training often results in unnecessary use of force.
