The death toll from Friday morning's house fire in Big Lake is three, including the man police believe started the blaze.

According to the Sherburne County sheriff, 36-year-old Anthony Robert Parker was first rescued from the burning house and then taken under guard to HCMC in Minneapolis, where he died a little more than 24 hours after the fire was first called in.

Crews arrived at the scene and pulled five people from the home, including four children, who were taken to area hospitals.

Two of Parker's sons, two-year-old Landon and one-year-old Spencer, later while the other two are reported in critical condition.

Those children who survived are ages 9 and 7.

It's not known what caused the fire, but police have said since early in the investigation that it appears the father set the fire deliberately.
