An arrest is made in the death of a man who was shot in broad daylight in a parking of a business in St. Paul's North End neighborhood.

The victim's name is not released.

Police say Lavelle Darvon Brown, 27, of St. Paul, booked into the Ramsey County jail early Saturday morning on suspicion of murder.

Police responded after noon today to the 400 block of Maryland Avenue North. The unidentified man died at the scene. An identification and cuase of death will come from the Ramsey County Medical Examiner.

St. Paul Police Department spokesman Steve Linders called it a "brazen" crime in a busy area.

"I was told by members of the homicide unit that the victim was sitting in his car when he was shot," he said. "He tried to get out of car and collapse onto the ground. What led up to that, we don't know. What the motivation is, we don't know at this point."
