Accomplished character actor and Minnesota native Steve Zahn is being honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award.

The Twin Cities Film Fest is honoring him tonight at a soldout gala at the Metropolitan Ballroom Thursday night.

Zahn joined Dave Lee in studio on the WCCO Morning News to discuss his nearly three decade-long career.

"When you look back, yeah, it's like wow yeah, I guess I've been around for a while," he said. "But the more you think of that, you think of the path of how you got where you are which is impossible to retrace. You get a little nervous and try to stop thinking about it because it may end."

Zahn was born in Marshall and grew up in Mankato and New Hope.

The entire conversation where he talks more about the industry and working with Tom Hanks on That Thing You Do is below. The Twin Cities Film Fest runs Oct. 17-27 and Thursday's event marks the season's official kickoff.
