Major party leaders in Minnesota ensured the state's voters will have an early say in next year's presidential primary process.

Minnesota is joining nine other states by holding its presidential primary election on March 3rd, 2020.

Democratic and Republican leaders Friday finalized the agreement that has Minnesota becoming a part of Super Tuesday.

The agreement came a week before the deadline to schedule the primary balloting.

Prior to this, Minnesota held precinct caucuses, but that was changed after the 2016 process featured complaints of overcrowding and confusion.

The other Super Tuesday states for the 2020 campaign are Alabama, California, Massachusetts, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont, and Virginia.
