Labor Day weekend is the last hurrah for summer travel and millions of Americans will be taking advantage.

AAA says more than 35 million people will be traveling more than 50 miles by car for the long weekend.

Airport spokesperson Patrick Hogan says MSP won't be as busy as you'd think because there are significantly fewer business travelers...

"It's not a really long holiday, so we don't see as much air travel for the Labor Day weekend as we do for some other holidays," he said. "There is a bit of an uptick that will start today and we'll see continue through probably Tuesday, but it's not enough that will cause any major hassles for anybody who's flying."

AAA says rush hour is a bad time to head out for Labor Day travel, but afterward -- between 7 and 9 p.m. -- isn't any better. Travel experts say later Friday night, or 5 a.m. to 7 a.m. Saturday will help you stay out of bumper-to-bumper traffic.

The next major airport travel day will be MEA weekend in October.
