Finally Minnesota United fans have their home.

At the team's Open House Friday showing off the restaurant Brew Hall and Black and Blue store at Allianz Field, the $250 million soccer-specific stadium in St. Paul's Midway neighborhood, fans could step inside for the first time.

It was a special moment for Fatai Popoola, who says following the Loons is like a connection to Nigeria, where he originates from.

"We didn't have this feeling before," he said. "Now that Minnesota United is here, it feels like home."

"Home" was the theme for elated fans who have followed this franchise's humble roots to MLS played at TCF Bank Stadium

"I follow Minnesota United, of course, but mostly I follow European soccer, especially in England," Jessica Kopp, a season ticket holder who lives in the neighborhood, said. "The stadiums they play, the fields are like cathedrals, they're like home. The idea of the team having a home is really cool to build that fan base and to build that love and connection around."

One well-traveled United fan called it the "best stadium in American at the moment," noting how close spectators are to the field.

The home opener is April 13.
