Major League Baseball has cancelled spring training baseball and has delayed the start of the regular season.

MLB says that teams have been planning a variety of contingency plans for the season. The league will announce what will come of the 2020 schedule at a later time.

The 2020 World Baseball Classic qualifier games have also been cancelled.

The Minnesota Twins were scheduled to open up the season in Oakland and Seattle, but after officials in each city ruled that gatherings in excess of 1,000 and 250, respectively, would be banned, Major League Baseball scrambled to come up with a plan on where to play the games.

Twins fans who purchased tickets to either spring training or regular-season games can get refund info here.
