A mother and aunt are facing charges of hiding a Minneapolis murder suspect from police.

Sharesha Lavonne Green, 44 of Plymouth, and 39-year-old Theresa Lynn Ansari of St. Paul are charged with one count of aiding an offender.

Prosecutors say they played a role in hiding 27 year old Sid Strickland-Green from police when they tried to question him for the murder of community activist Tyrone Williams on April 3.

According to court documents, police began their search for Strickland-Green just a few days after the murder, but when they tried to contact his mother Sharesha about his whereabouts, she did not cooperate.

Strickland-Green was eventually arrested at Ansari's St. Paul apartment on June 11.

Sharesha Green and Ansari are scheduled to make their first court appearance on Aug. 16.
