To coincide with what would have been his 60th birthday on Thursday, Prince's Estate announced that a new album is coming.

"A Piano and a Microphone 1983" will be released in September and is now available for preorder.

It includes nine tracks from a previously unreleased rehearsal cassette. One of the tracks, "Mary Don't You Weep," was also released on YouTube.

In a statement, the estate says it's "excited to be able to give fans a glimpse of his evolution and show how his career ultimately came full circle with just him and his piano."

There are other ways to celebrate the Purple One's birthday.

Friday is "Prince Night" at Target Field, where the Twins will be handing out inflatable Prince guitars and having purple postgame fireworks.

And west of the Twin Cities in Henderson, fans are hosting a three-day festival to honor Prince's legacy where some of the scenes from the movie Purple Rain were shot.
