40th reported homicide in Minneapolis is 30-year-old man

Shooting took place in Marcy-Homes neighborhood

Minneapolis police are investigating the city's 40th reported homicide of 2019, the victim identified as a 30-year-old man from Columbia Heights. 

The Hennepin County medical examiner reports that Mohamed Ahmed Hassan died of a gunshot wound to the chest.

Police say Hassan was fatally wounded about 10:15 Saturday night in the parking lot of Stone Arch Apartments in the Marcy-Homes neighborhood.  

This is not far from the historic Stone Arch Bridge over the Mississippi River.

Investigators searched for clues near the intersection of Southeast Sixth Avenue and Southeast Main Street.  

Emergency crews took Hassan to HCMC, where he later died.  

There are no arrests.
