Minnesota governor Tim Walz and St. Paul mayor Melvin Carter will come together Tuesday morning at the former Ford plant site in St. Paul. Together, they will make an announcement regarding the development of the 122 acres, which has sat empty since Ford shutdown it's factory in 2011.

Minneapolis based Ryan Cos. plans to develop the property, which is still owned by Ford, into houses, retail and green spaces. However, the project has drawn concerns from many in the Highland Park neighborhood.

"Everything from making sure there's affordable housing at the site, to the height of the buildings, and the density, even the traffic," WCCO political insider Blois Olson told Dave Lee during the WCCO Morning News.

In the proposal, Ryan Cos. would build nearly 3,800 housing units along the Mississippi River.

More about the project will be revealed at 11 a.m.
