Six shooting incidents, one fatal, reported overnight in Minneapolis

A woman is in critical condition, no arrests are made

Another violent night in Minneapolis with six reported shooting incidents with nine people hit by gunfire, one of them fatally wounded.

MPD responded to a shooting at 12:30 a.m. Friday on the 2900 block of Sixth Street North, where a 20-year-old man was found dead.  A woman who was wounded is hospitalized.

That came about half an hour after two were wounded in a shooting near the George Floyd memorial at 38th and Chicago in south Minneapolis, while right around the same time a man driving at 29th and Park told police he was shot by someone from a passing car.

There were three shootings in Minneapolis over a three-hour span starting at 7 last night, where one man was shot at 29th and Lyndale. Two were wounded in a shooting at the East Phillips Park basketball courts at 24th and Cedar, while another man was shot at 21st and Sixth Street North.

There are no arrests in any of the incidents, the woman who was shot remains in critical condition, while the others who survived are all expected to recover.
