The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Investigation Tuesday releases more details of an officer-involved shooting that left two people wounded in the town of Waseca, about 70 miles south of the Twin Cities.

The site of the incident is in the 900 block of 3rd Avenue, about a block southeast of Clear Lake in a residential area east of Waseca's downtown.

According to the BCA, two people were shot, a Waseca police officer and a suspect who police say fired at the officer.

Both were taken to North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale and their conditions are not released.

More than a dozen law enforcement vehicles were reported at the scene following the shooting, which happened around 8 p.m. Monday.

It's not known what led to the shooting, and police say there is no threat to the public.
