Two men died late Wednesday in two unrelated shootings in Minneapolis.

The first victim was found at 7:30 pm by officers responding to reports of a shooting outside near S. 9th Street and 23rd Avenue South, according to the Minneapolis Police Department. Officers and firefighters rendered aid, and the victim was transported to HCMC but died several hours later.

The second incident occurred at around 10:20 p.m. officers, when were called out to report of shots fired followed by a car crash in the area of 48th Ave. N and Camden Ave. N.

Investigators believe a man was sitting in his car when someone shot into the car and struck the victim.

The victim then accelerated rapidly southbound on Camden and struck a parked vehicle, flipping the victim's car on its roof.

The man crawled out and got to the side of the road but lost consciousness. Paramedics tried to revive him, but he later died at the hospital.

Police spent several hours canvassing the area. Anybody with information asked to call MPD or Crimestoppers.

The intersection happens to a block from where the Thurman Blevins shooting occurred. Authorities say they are not connected.
