It's time for Minnesota Congresswoman Ilhan Omar to address the issue says WCCO Radio political analyst Blois Olson.

Olson's comments come after the Star Tribune reported that new documents showi Omar was once married to a man, possibly her own brother, to by pass immigration laws in 2009.

"Prove that they're not brother and sister," Olson said. "If they did that, and it came back as they weren't brother and sister, the right-wing conspiracy theorists would be done."

Omar has denied the allegations but the questions surfaced again, in a probe of campaign finance violations showing she filed federal taxes in 2014 and 2015 with her current husband, while she was still legally married to but separated from the other man.

"You have to think more national reporters that are following up what the Star Tribune has, doing their own homework, and are going to start pressing her more directly," said Olson, who also hosts the Beers with Blois podcast. "That's where we see these stories unravel, where they come around. It's going to be really tough for her to get rid of this story now."
