One dead after shooting in northeast Minneapolis

The scene of a car accident became a homicide investigation Tuesday afternoon in northeast Minneapolis.

Minneapolis police were called to the intersection of Central Avenue and NE 14th Avenue at 4:49 p.m. after a car drove into a building. Police found an adult male suffering from apparent gunshot wounds in the driver's seat.

Emergency first aid was provided at the scene and the male was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center where he died a short time later.

A number of people at the scene were interviewed, however no arrests have been made and police have not announced a description of any suspect. The name of the victim will be released by the medical examiners office.
