Suspicious death lands person of interest in Hennepin Couty jail

Investigators say it appears the two were involved in a fight

Minneapolis police are looking into what they are calling a suspicious death that happened Satuday afternoon.  

Paramedics tried to revive a man in an apartment on the 1900 block of Park Avenue south. The man died at the scene.  

Another man at the apartment who appeared physically injured was taken to the hospital for treatment. 

"Both men showed signs that a physical altercation had taken place," said the MPD's John Elder. 

"The other man was treaten for injuries and subsequently booked into the Hennepin County jail.

Police say that man is a person of interest in the death.

"It happened inside an apartment buiding, so there's a lot of doors to knock on, a lot of people to talk to," said Elder. "People have been very cooperative and very forthcoming with information

Names of the two men are not released.
