Ready, set, THINK!

June 09, 2018 - 7:38 am

Saturday is the 26th annual Great American Think-Off in New York Mills.

Four finalists will get the chance to tackle this year's topic... "Which plays a larger role in shaping one's life, success or failure?"

Taking the stance for success are Mark Bland of Virginia Beach, along with Rudy San Miguel of New Orleans.

Arguing for failure are Tonya Abari of Nashville, and Anthony Berryhill of Austin, Texas.

The annual philosophy contest has taken place every year since 1993 at the New York Mills Cultural Center.

Officials at the Cultural Center call the Think-Off  an exhibition of civil disagreement between powerful ideas that connect to your life at the gut level.

Social practice theater artist Ashley Hanson of Granite Falls is moderator of debate among armchair philosophers. The audience determines the winner of the debate.
