Congressman Erik Paulsen joined Chad Hartman Tuesday to discuss the gun control legislation he is co-sponsored in Congress.

The bill provides grants to encourage states to adopt gun violence restraining order laws, which enable local law enforcement to seize and retain firearms from individuals who are determined to be an imminent danger to themselves or others. Five states, including Indiana, have such laws, which are also known as "Red Flag" laws.

"Look, I support the second amendment, these tragedies have shown, however, that there are gaps in our current system that need to be filled. The reason a bipartisan group of us came forward is to promote these red flag laws for gun violence restraining orders is that they're working in some states," Paulsen said.
