The reported discord between Jimmy Butler and the Minnesota Timberwolves has apparently reached a breaking point.

The Athletic's Shams Charania is reporting that Butler has requested a trade from the Wolves.

Further reporting from ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski says Butler has three teams in mind as a destination.

Butler's arrival to Minnesota last year made the Wolves an instant playoff contender, and the team did return to the post-season for the first time in more than a decade, winning 47 games in the process.

But despite his close connection to Timberwolves coach Tom Thibodeau, Butler has expressed frustration with young stars Karl-Anthony Towns and Andrew Wiggins.

Butler has one year left on his contract.  We'll have more on this story as it develops.
