Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar says she's "considering" running for president in 2020.

On Hardball with Chris Matthews on MSNBC Tuesday, the democrat senator gaining more national attention responded to questions if she'll run.

"I'm considering it," she said. "There's a number of people considering it."

"What would stop you?" Matthews asked.

"Look, it is a daunting task to make that decision," she said. "You have to decide that you would be a good president, that you could bring the country together, that you would be able to beat Donald Trump or whoever the other party put up. But to do it right, I think you really have to do what I said at the beginning: you have to find common ground -- and I do have that track record -- but for the purpose of bringing this country to a higher ground.

Klobuchar has not said definitively if she is planning to throw her hat in the ring in the Democrats' effort to unseat Donald Trump.
