Man found fatally wounded in St. Paul's Summit-University neighborhood

Police looking for clues, no arrest yet

St. Paul police are asking the public's help in finding out who shot an killed a man in the Summit-University neighborhood.

Police were called about 8:45 Thursday night to the 700 block of Carroll Avenue.  

This is south of Interestate 94 and about two blocks west of Dale Street near Carty Park.

A man was found inside a car with an apparent gunshot wound, but paramedics were not able to revive him and he died at the scene.  

"There were people around, I don't know whether it was a large group," said St. Police spokesman Steve Linders. "Hopefully, some of them know what happened, or saw what happened. Hopefully they'll talk to us."

Police set up a crime scene perimeter and tried to keep possible witnesses in the area.  

There are no arrests, and nothing is released about the victim.  

This is the fifth reported homicide on 2019 in St. Paul.
