With Attorney General William Barr deciding not to appear at a House Judiciary Committee hearing on Thursday, a Democratic Congressman from Tennessee decided to throw some shade at Barr.

Rep. Steve Cohen, D-Tennessee, started eating a bucket of Kentucky Fried Chicken at 9 a.m. while lawmakers and the press waited to see if Barr would show up on the Hill. Cohen then left the bucket — along with a ceramic chicken — on the table where Barr would have sat, according to CBS News

The Attorney General spent five hours testifying Wednesday before the Senate Judiciary Committee defending his summary of the Mueller Report's findings.  Democrats pushed Barr on a number of fronts including a letter special council Robert Mueller sent Barr, in which Mueller complained that Barr didn't "fully capture" the substance of the report.

Hour Chairman Jerry Nadler (D-New York) has threatened to hold Barr in contempt but has not subpoened him to the hearings.

Cohen decided to take a symbolic approach.  After eating chicken out of his bucket of KFC during opening statements, Cohen brought a ceramic chicken.
