Opening statements are scheduled Wednesday in the Fargo trial of a man charged in the gruesome death of a pregnant woman.

William Hoehn admitted that he helped cover up Savanna Greywind's death in August 2017, but denies he knew anything about plans by his girlfriend, Brooke Crews, to kill Greywind.

Crews pleaded guilty earlier to killing Greywind and cutting her womb to get her baby and is serving life in prison without parole. The baby named Haisley Jo survived.

Crews didn't give a public account of Hoehn's role in the crime, but she's on the government's list of potential witnesses.

The body of 22-year-old Greywind was found in the Red River days after she went missing.

The jury consists of eight women and six men and two alternates.
