The Minnesota Twins are announcing some changes to Gate 34 at Target Field.  That's the gate that greets fans who approach the ballpark from Target Plaza.

The Twins will extend the gate further out into the plaza area and add entry points. There will also be a canopy extending over the gates to protect people from the elements as they enter.

According to a press release from the team, the existing topiaries and secondary planters currently outside of Gate 34 on the plaza will be removed and replaced with a green scape that will now be inside the ballpark gate.  It increases some 9,300 sqare footage inside the ballpark.

“The Twins are excited about the new Gate 34 design and how it will further enhance fan experience at Target Field,” said Twins President & CEO Dave St. Peter. “Gate 34 has always been the ballpark’s “front door” and we are confident the new design will result in better fan access while also creating a dynamic new space for fans to enjoy during the ballgame.”

The renovation is already underway and will be completed by the start of the 2019 season, according to the Twins.
