The Twins pick up their home stand with a doubleheader on Tuesday against the White Sox at Target Field

The pitching matchups is expected to include the major league debut of righthander Zach Littell. The 22-year-old prospect would be called up from Class AAA Rochester as an extra player for the doubleheader, and likely be sent back after his outing.

Littell came to the Twins organization last summer from the Yankees in exchange for pitcher Jaime Garcia. Originally a 2013 draftee of the Seattle Mariners, Littell started this season with Class AA Chattanooga before being promoted to Rochester.

His numbers weren't good for the Lookouts, going 0-3 with a 5.87 earned run average. In five appearances with Rochester, Littell has split a pair of decisions with an ERA of 2.57.

Rookie Fernando Romero is expected to start the other game of the doubleheader against the White Sox, who plan on sending Reynaldo Lopez and Lucas Giolito to the mound.

The Twins are 3-1 so far in the home stand after taking their weekend series from Cleveland. After this four-gamer against the White Sox, the Los Angeles Angels come to town for three games starting Friday.

The Twins pulled to within 3 1/2 games of the first-place Indians in the AL Central, but are still below the .500 mark at 25-30.

Twins take two in MLB Draft

In Monday's MLB Draft, the Twins selected Oregon State outfielder Trevor Lanach with the 20th overall pick. They used their second selection to take catcher Ryan Jeffers out of UNC-Wilmington.

Lanach has a slash line of .324/.447/.637 this season for the Beavers, who are hosting the Gophers in the upcoming NCAA super regional.

The slot value for the 20th overall draft selection is $3.1 million.

Jeffers' slot value at number 59 overall is $1.1 million. He's a .325 career batter for the Seahawks.

The third through tenth rounds of the MLB Draft takes place Tuesday.
