Dakota County prosecutors have charged two adults and a 17-year-old with multiple felonies in connection to an armed robbery spree that ended in a crash involving a squad car.

Twenty-one-year-old Daiquawn Burrell-Smith of St. Paul, 27-year-old Jared Washington of Minneapolis and a Minneapolis 17-year-old are facing several robbery, assault and burglary charges. The armed robberies happened Wednesday evening in Apple Valley, Eagan and Burnsville.

The Dakota County attorney's office says the second victim helped police by turning on GPS tracking on his phone which was allegedly stolen by the men. Police located the stolen car in an Apple Valley parking lot when it took off down wrong way traffic and crashed head on with a marked patrol car.

"This was a series of violent crimes which terrorized four separate victims," county attorney James Backstrom said in a statement. "We are thankful that none of these victims were physically injured and that the police were able to make these arrests as quickly as they did."

Bail was set at $500,000 for the two men. Their next court appearance is set for Nov. 8 in Hastings.

The judge ordered the 17-year-old's continued secured detention. An initial appearance on the motion to certify the teen as an adult in the case is scheduled for Oct. 16.
