As summer kicks off, a lot of Minnesota Gopher fans wonder what will happen to their favorite sports once the school year begins. University of Minnesota Athletic Director Mark Coyle spoke with Roshini Rajkumar on REAL Talk with Roshini to share best and worst-case scenarios as everyone awaits the next steps from the U of M Board of Regents regarding budget as well as any twists COVID-19 may present.

"Football is the big driver," Coyle stresses. "That generates most of the revenue for our entire department. Worst case is we're not able to play in the fall." Coyle says they are looking at all different options, including shifted season schedules. He admits there are a lot of variables but wouldn't commit to any definite answer when Roshini asked whether any sport could be on the chopping block. "First concern is life and protecting people. The economic devastation is unbelievable."
