The Vikings are making it official Thursday.  Kirk Cousins will be the team's new Quarterback.

He signed a reported three-year, $84 million contract that makes him the highest-paid quarterback in the league.

Cousins joins the Vikings after spending six years with the Washington Redskins. The Holland, Michigan native started all 16 games during the previous three seasons while topping 4,000+ passing yards and 25+ touchdowns during each campaign.

Cousins was originally drafted in the 4th round (102nd overall) of the 2012 NFL Draft. He has started 57 career games and appeared in 62 contests. The former Michigan State Spartan has thrown for 16,206 yards and 99 touchdowns with a 65.5 completion percentage and a 93.7 QB rating for his career to date. Cousins has added 13 career rushing touchdowns, all which have come since 2015.

While in Washington, Cousins posted single-season records for the franchise in passing yards (4,917), completions (406), attempts (606) and matched the team record for 300-yard passing games (7). Cousins led the NFL in 2015 with a 69.8% completion percentage while leading Washington to the NFC East title. The seven-year veteran was named to the Pro Bowl following the 2016 season. He has earned NFC Offensive Player of the Month honors twice and NFC Offensive Player of the Week honors four times. Cousins led the NFL in 2017 with four game-winning drives and has 12 career game-winning drives.

He is being introduced to the media Thursday afternoon at 3:30.  WCCO will air the press conference live and you can listen here.
