Last weekend's shootings in which four people in Minneapolis were killed, has brought renewed attention to the safety of employees and patrons of local small businesses.

Jonathan Weinhagen, president and CEO of Minneapolis Regional Chamber, tells Paul and Jordana on WCCO that he's seen an uptick in phone calls from owners who are concerned about gun violence and how to intervene.

"I think the broader effort is the work that we do together in community, and in supporting the city and the police department to achieve the interventions necessary, to address what really is a national crisis around gun violence and violent crime," he said.

Violent crime is down overall 21 percent, including homicide.
